The FAKRO PDS G53 is a solar-powered venting deck-mounted skylight designed for projects where natural light, fresh air, thermal performance, and indoor comfort are important. With Premium Infinity laminated Low-E triple glass, an insulated PVC frame, and solar-powered operation, this skylight is a strong choice for Passive House Design, Net-Zero Homes, and other high-performance residential and commercial building projects.

The integrated photovoltaic panel and battery operate the skylight without hardwiring, making it suitable for new construction, replacement projects, and out-of-reach installations. A factory-programmed Z-Wave remote control is included for convenient operation, while the built-in rain sensor automatically closes the skylight when rainfall is detected. The triple-pane laminated glass can also help dampen exterior noise, making the skylight suitable for homes located in areas with higher outdoor noise levels.

The PDS features a clean Infinity Glass exterior with a virtually frameless glass surface, a flat profile that helps with water drainage, and a black exterior aluminum profile for a modern roof appearance. The white insulated PVC interior frame provides a clean finished look and supports improved energy efficiency.

Performance Values

Flashing Information

The PDS skylight can be installed on flat or pitched roofs from 0° to 60°. Flashing and waterproofing requirements depend on roof pitch and roofing material.

• 0° to 14° roof pitch: FAKRO EL-D and EH-D flashings are not used for this application. The skylight must be properly integrated into the roofing system with correct waterproofing and roofing work.
• 15° to 60° roof pitch: Flashing is required and sold separately.
• EL-D flashing: For shingle, shake, or slate roofs.
• EH-D flashing: For tile, corrugated metal, or standing seam roofs.

Warranty

The PDS skylight is backed by a 10-year skylight warranty, a 20-year laminated glass hail damage warranty, and a 2-year warranty for electrical elements and gas springs, subject to the limitations specified in the product warranty terms.
