The FVS is a deck-mounted solar venting skylight offering automatic ventilation, thermal performance, and energy independence. Powered by an integrated solar panel and equipped with a Z-Wave radio control system, it’s ideal for out-of-reach installations or homes seeking a smart, wire-free skylight solution. A built-in rain sensor automatically closes the sash during wet weather for added protection.
Key features of the FVS solar skylight include:
- White Acrylic Frame: Durable, low-maintenance white acrylic frame designed to blend seamlessly with modern interiors.
- High Performance Glazing: Equipped with the G31 glazing unit – double-pane, low-emission, tempered-laminated glass with warm spacer and argon gas fill. In case of breakage, laminated glass fragments remain bonded to the interlayer (U-factor: 0.41, SHGC: 0.19).
- Solar Powered Operation: Photovoltaic panel with integrated battery allows remote control operation with no hardwiring required.
- Z-Wave Smart Home Integration: Built-in Z-Wave module enables communication with compatible home automation systems.
- Automatic Rain Sensor: Automatically closes the skylight when rainfall is detected (sensor is inactive when skylight is closed).
- Insect Screen Included: Factory-installed mesh screen protects against insects.
- Condensation Protection: Triple-seal gasket system and perimeter gasket under the frame enhance insulation and moisture control.
- Durable Cladding: Exterior aluminum cladding in RAL 7022 with a UV-resistant polyester coating.
- Bracket-Free Installation: Simple deck-mount system enables fast and secure installation without additional brackets.
- Flexible Application: Suitable for roof pitches between 15° and 85°. Designed for use at altitudes up to 3,000 ft above sea level.
